Michelle Tanaka
Name: Michelle Tanaka
School: NYU
Major: History, minoring in English and creative writing
Why are you here?
Prague seems like a less conventional study-abroad site, less expensive too. And there’s lots of history here, which is great.
Since you arrived in Prague, what has totally freaked you out?
I went to bar one night, and the atmosphere was really creepy. One of the men there told my friends and me that he wanted to sleep with all of us because we were so beautiful.
What’s your dream job?
I would love to be a food critic.
What languages do you speak?
I’ve taken five years of French, but if I got arrested there and they didn’t speak English it’d be a problem. I’m also taking Czech while I’m here.
Where do you plan to travel this semester?
Budapest and I’d love to also make it to Barcelona, Lyon, Geneva, Croatia, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Ireland for fox-hunting.
What’s something you’re fanatical about?
Lady Gaga and Christmas.
What is something about you that I will not see on your Facebook page?
I asked my dad to shave my head in middle school, during my wannabe punk-rock phase.
What do you know that I don’t?
I can care for, train, and ride a horse.
